The Independent Long-Term Care Councils Association of BC (ILTCCABC) is proud to be featured in the Spring 2026 edition of Senior Line Magazine, highlighting the growing importance of resident and family voices in long-term care and broader seniors’ advocacy initiatives across British Columbia.

On page 36, ILTCCABC President Lisa Dawson shares the article “Nothing About Us Without Us,” which emphasizes the vital role Family Councils play in improving quality of life for residents through collaboration, peer support, education, and advocacy. The article also highlights how local Family Councils, regional associations, and ILTCCABC work together to elevate the voices of residents and families to provincial decision-makers.

ILTCCABC’s message is further reinforced through an advertisement on page 39, encouraging families, residents, and caregivers to become involved in Family Councils and strengthen long-term care communities across BC. The advertisement promotes ILTCCABC’s mission of helping residents, families, and staff make life better in long-term care.

The magazine also recognizes ILTCCABC’s broader advocacy efforts. On page 5, Strength in Numbers identifies ILTCCABC as a member of the Seniors’ Collaborative working to achieve free and reliable access to home support services for seniors. On page 8, What Should Governments Do? acknowledges ILTCCABC as part of a growing movement calling for greater recognition of seniors’ supports as essential services for one of the fastest-growing segments of our population.

These features reflect the increasing influence of resident and family voices in shaping the future of seniors’ care and support services throughout British Columbia.
