Supportive of long-term care issues, our BC Ombudsperson is an independent and impartial official who investigates complaints from the public about unfair government administration. 

In 2012, the Ombudsperson came out with The Best of Care: Getting it Right for Seniors in BC (parts 1 and 2). There was great support for improvement in long-term care. In 2021, the Ombudsperson called on government and health authorities to address outstanding gaps in long-term care visits policy and practice
All regional associations of family councils are invited to this opportunity to hear from our Ombudsperson, learn about their office, what they can look into and how to raise concerns. Jay Chalke only has 1 hour with us. We are sending questions in advance.
